Dear Residents & Business Owners
My name is Charlotte and I am the founder and organiser of the Poundbury Christmas Market, which you may have attended in Crown Square last year. I am delighted to say that the market is returning to Crown Square on Saturday 2nd December.
The Market is a not-for-profit event, with funds received from the stall holders off-setting the insurance and marketing. Any surplus contributes towards the Market the following year. Morrish Homes are again sponsoring the Christmas Tree for the Square and Zero C are sponsoring the music and entertainment.
I thought it would be helpful to explain how the event operates:
We have a website www.poundburychristmasmarket.co.uk which I will keep updated as plans progress, but please do email me at [email protected] if you have questions. You are also welcome to pop into Boo’s Toy Shop to See Jon or Charlotte if you have any questions.
We look forward to the Poundbury Christmas Market 2023. If you would like to get involved, please do let me know.

The road closures are to ensure the safety of visitors, residents, and traders. If you live around crown square, please take note of the following road closures from Friday 1st December at 5.30pm to Saturday 2nd December 6pm.

- There will be a need for road closures from 17:30 Friday 1st December to 18:00 Saturday 2nd December. As soon as everyone has left on the Saturday, the roads will reopen. The road closures are designed to minimise inconvenience and have been carefully planned to maintain alternative access routes.
- We only ask that vehicles are removed from outside the businesses during these times.
- All stall holder vehicles will be directed to non-residential parking spaces on the day.
- Stall holders arrive from 07:00 on the Saturday, ready for a 10:00 start.
- All rubbish is removed on the day and this year we have invested in commercial bins.
